Upcoming Contract
The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center is hosting one of the last of the major conferences before a wave of construction begins this summer to prepare the venue for the FIFA World Cup and a major renovation project.
City officials say work will begin on upgrading the facility to serve as the International Broadcast Center for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. These upgrades are expected to continue until January 2026, just ahead of the tournament.
The Dallas City Council approved up to $15 million in convention center upgrades as part of the effort to secure the IBC.
Current Construction
The Capitol Complex Project is transforming the Capitol Complex as a destination that celebrates the Capitol with grand civic spaces, shaded pedestrian-friendly streets, and connections to the surrounding community.
The Texas Capitol Complex Master Plan 2020 Update provides the vision for Phase 2 of the Capitol Complex Project with two new state office buildings and the final block of the Texas Capitol Mall and underground parking garage.
Construction continues on Phase II of the Texas Capitol Complex project, which costs around $500 million. It will house state employees from different public safety agencies.
Current Construction
The Crowley school district is planning some construction projects, including renovations and additions to two schools in the Crowley school district. Balfour Beatty said the renovations include cafeteria expansion, a brand-new courtyard, classroom flooring replacement, athletic additions, library refresh and more.
In a joint venture with GCC Enterprises, Dallas-based Balfour Beatty was selected to provide $100 million in renovations to North Crowley High School and North Crowley’s 9th Grade Center.

$550 Million Hotel Development is Loews’ Second Loews Property in the Metroplex, adding 888 rooms and 266,000 square feet of function space to Arlington’s Entertainment District.
The resort is situated between two iconic sports stadiums: Globe Life Field, home to the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers, and AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys. It is also conveniently connected to the new Arlington Convention Center, which is also operated by Loews Hotels & Co., and the existing 300-room Live! By Loews Hotel.
Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center was built by JE Dunn in partnership with GCC Enterprises, TD Industries, HKS Architects, and many more.

When completed in December of this year, the new $11.8 million, four-story, 82,000-square-foot building will house a variety of physician offices and space for additional hospital services. Partnering with Methodist Mansfield to build this second professional office building are contractor Skiles Group & GCC Enterprises Inc., architect Perkins + Will, and engineer WSP/CCRD.
The new professional building follows close on the heels of the opening of the Methodist Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) and its new outpatient-based imaging center that offers the the first high-field open MRI in the community. The CDI opened in December.

The new sixth patrol division is estimated to cost $14 million, and it is funded by the Crime Control and Prevention District. The Fort Worth Police Department’s sixth patrol division facility will improve customer service by speeding up response times and increasing police presence in the area.
City officials broke ground on the new facility at 8755 N. Riverside Drive on April 3. The 23,000-square-foot facility near Alliance Town Center will be home to 110 officers and 13 administrative staff who will serve the growing population in north Fort Worth.
Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald said the new building will enhance community partnerships by serving as a command center for new and active Citizens on Patrol members, providing community meeting space and improving accessibility to police staff.

S&G Joint Venture constructed the 27,000-square-foot, $49 million residents’ hall (officially named Wisdom Hall), which includes 12 double-occupancy rooms and 96 single-occupancy rooms, ample study space, a kitchen, a social area, multi-purpose space for classes and workshops, and a workout facility.

Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre public park in Downtown Dallas, Texas. The park creates an urban green space constructed over a section of the below-grade Woodall Rodgers Freeway, for 3 blocks between Pearl Street and St. Paul Street. It provides connectivity to the city’s flourishing Arts District from other neighborhoods, brings together cultural events and experiences, and serves as a central public gathering space for Dallas residents and visitors to enjoy.
Designed by landscape architecture firm, The Office of James Burnett, the park features flexible, pedestrian-oriented design, which include a children’s park, reading room, great lawn, restaurant, performance pavilion, fountain plaza, games area, urban dog park, and botanical garden around a sweeping pedestrian promenade. A 6,000-square-foot restaurant and performance stage, designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners, is in the center of the park. In addition, it provides jogging trails, a children’s playground, and an area for games.
